This morning i happily walk snoflake dog. She was spayed about 10 days ago so she is now ok to go on long walks again. She is now 4.4 lbs btw :) I had planned for a good walk before I had to get ready and head to work. We had made our way around my complex and we were going to head round one side then out to go to the main street. We have tons of kitties around the neighborhood. Many are pets that are allowed out since they wear collars and are very sweet and friendly. A few kitties we will say hello and I will pet on our walks. Snoflake is not as afraid of cats - they don't approach, and are usually quiet, unlike people and dogs which makes her afraid normally. So we were walking on a narrower part where one side is wall and the other is stairs up to apartments. At the foot of the stairs is a mommy cat and two little kittens. I don't approach them but think oh how cute! We go to walk past and the cat goes completely nutso and tries to go for snoflake! Snoflake becomes afraid and pulls on her leash and cries. I rush to head off the attacking cat and we manage to get past it before it can get to snoflake. It all happened really fast and I was so taken by surprise. We walk a short bit and i realize my ankle hurts so i look down and it is all scratched and bleeding. I think it was my rhinestone prongs on the top of the thongs that did it but I just don't know because i was so afraid for snoflake that i don't remember if i had caught up my feet in my rush to get the cat away. It is entirely possible it was the kitty but i didn't think it got me.
This was just when i noticed before it got super gross and bloody.
Tonight on our walk i was watching out for the cat since i didn't want to turn a corner and surprise it.
Good thing since there it was just a little farther away!
If it's there tomorrow I am going to see if it is aggressive if snoflake isn't with me and hopefully it was just afraid of my little puppy.
